Treatments
The following are potential treatment options to improve your pain and function.

Manual Therapy
The use of manual therapy helps to improve mobility in various joints, this works especially well with spinal conditions. My current studies into a Diploma of Musculoskeletal Medicine ensures that manual therapy is up to date and effective.

Acupuncture
The use of dry needling and acupuncture is effective in treating various conditions. Through needling the affected area nerves are stimulated which reduces pain, it encourage blood flow and can break down adhesion and knots within muscles.

Manipulation
A manipulation is a force applied to the joint at its end of range, this increases the movement in the joint and therefore reduces pain.

Biomechanical Assessments
It is not only vital to treat injuries but assess the reasons they occur, through assessment of your biomechanics and suitable adjustments improves pain, reduces injury risk and can improve performance.

Taping
Kinesology tape is a tape with elastic properties that is applied around joints and muscles, it aids recovery and healing through allowing greater range of movement.

Deep Tissue Massage
This reduces muscle tightness and encorgages blood flow to improve healing, particularly helpful in sports injuries.

Shockwave Therapy
This piece of kit is a game changer for those with tendon pain. Clinically proven to improve chronic tendon injuries, reduce pain and allow a return to function, sport etc. It works through resetting the healing process, almost taking the body back to a fresh injury to allow the area to heal better, stronger and quicker. There’s loads of science behind how it works but I’ll bore you with that another day.
It’s proven on many tendon problems including:
Achilies
Tennis elbow
Rotator cuff
Hamstring
Patella
Golfers elbow
Plantar fasciitis

CUPPING
Cupping utilises suction cups that are applied to the skin’s surface. This draws blood upwards to the area. It’s not as painful as it looks! Great for recovery from intense training and for relieving tight muscles.
